In the early 20th century Dr. Jan Bonsma recognized the need for cattle that could thrive in extreme conditions while efficiently producing high quality beef. The resulting breed composition is approximately 5/8ths Afrikaner, 3/16th Shorthorn, and 3/16th Hereford. We are proud to offer some of the finest Bonsmara cattle available in the United States.
